Special Guest- Gregg Marshall

Thank you, Coach Gregg Marshall, for joining us at the RMHC Wichita's 28th Annual Benefit Golf Tournament on June 2nd.  Before the tournament, teams had the chance to bid on making Coach Marshall a member of their team.  All the proceeds benefited families staying at our two Ronald McDonald Houses and using the Ronald McDonald Family Room.

Gregg Marshall Bio:

Gregg Marshall is not a native Kansan, but he quickly became a household name after being named the 25th head men’s basketball coach at Wichita State University (WSU) in 2007.

In the early years of his coaching career Marshall served as an assistant coach for Randolph-Macon College, Belmont Abbey College, College of Charleston, and Marshall University.

In 1998, Marshall became head coach at Winthrop University in Rock Hill, South Carolina. He led the Eagles to their first-ever Big South Conference Regular-Season Championship and their first appearance at the NCAA tournament. In the 9 years he served as head coach, he also led Winthrop to 7 Big South Conference Championships, and 7 NCAA tournament appearances.

In 2007, Marshall was named head coach at WSU. It did not take long to see the impact Marshall had on the Shockers as he coached the Shockers to the NIT Championship in 2011. In 2012 he led the Shockers to their first NCAA tournament appearance since 2006, and in 2013 the Shockers returned to the NCAA tournament to sweep through to the Final Four. Their most recent season was one for the history books, as the Shockers reached the NCAA tournament 34-0.

Marshall is married to Lynn (Munday) of Bellingham, WA, who earned her master’s degree from the College of Charleston. They are the parents of two children, Kellen and Maggie.
